That’s where this blog comes in. My goal is to provide honest, relatable reviews and comparisons that speak directly to what teens care about today. Making hard to understand technologies as easy as possible to grasp for all my readers, making them more able to make informed decisions.

My Story
Hey, I’m Finn! I’m a fifteen-year-old tech enthusiast living in the Netherlands, currently in the fourth year of HAVO education. I’m half British and have always been fascinated by technology and gaming. From a young age, I found myself constantly looking at the coolest tech setups or latest gaming PC’s. That curiosity turned into a deep passion for all things tech, which is why I decided to start Through the Eyes of a Teenager.
My blogging journey began when I was looking for ways to make some extra money as a teenager. Like most kids my age, I was eager to find a job, but I quickly realized there weren’t many opportunities for someone my age. I wanted to do something creative, something I was passionate about, and that’s when I stumbled upon blogging. I saw it as a way to share my love for tech and gaming while helping others. Especially teens like me and their parents, so they can make smarter tech choices. So they can see through all the marketing fluff and actually get something that will help them. All through a genuine un-biased viewpoint, all through the eyes of a teenager.
I’ve been blogging for over a year now, and during this time, I’ve learned so much about technology, writing, and how to connect with my readers. My goal is to provide honest, relatable reviews, comparisons, and helpful guides. I aim to break down complex tech topics in a way that everyone can understand. Being a teenager myself gives me a unique perspective on what teens like and need, and I aim to pass that knowledge on through my blog.

How This Blog Has Evolved
The journey to creating Through the Eyes of a Teenager started back in June 2023 with my first blog, Door de Ogen van een Tiener. It was my introduction to blogging, and while it was exciting, I quickly realized that writing in Dutch limited my audience. As someone who’s half British, switching to English felt like a natural step. It offered a chance to reach a global audience. Which is exactly why I decided to launch Through the Eyes of a Teenager in June 2024. Since then, this blog has surpassed what my original Dutch site ever achieved.
The transition to English wasn’t just about the language—it marked a major shift in my approach. In July 2024, I decided to focus on creating high-quality, informative content that teens and parents could rely on to make smart tech decisions. This change helped me improve my writing and make the blog more valuable for readers. About a month ago, I updated all my older posts to match the quality of my recent work. Now, every piece of content reflects the same standard, making the blog a more cohesive and polished resource.
Another part of my journey has been my YouTube channel, which I started in September 2023. Initially, it was a way to expand on the blog’s content. However, with school, sports, and social life, it’s been hard to keep up with regular uploads. For now, my focus is on growing the blog, but I plan to revisit the channel once I’ve established a stronger foundation here.
Currently, Through the Eyes of a Teenager brings in around 300 monthly visitors, a massive improvement compared to the 5-10 visitors I used to get on my Dutch blog. It’s not where I want it to be yet, but the growth so far has been incredibly motivating. This blog has been an amazing learning experience, teaching me the value of persistence, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
From starting small to now building a platform that’s steadily growing, I’ve come a long way. My mission remains the same: to simplify tech for teens and parents, helping them make informed decisions. The journey isn’t over, and I’m excited to see how this blog continues to evolve.
The Moment It All Made Sense
My “aha!” moment came when I realized I could do so much more than just write reviews or buying guides. I saw that many people struggled to understand complex tech terms or features. Which is why I knew I could make a difference by explaining them in a way that anyone could grasp. This switch in strategy opened up a whole new world for my blog.
